Future Ready Students: GPS to Hold 2nd Annual District College & Career Fair

Families and students of Gilbert Public Schools are invited to the 2nd annual GPS District-Wide College & Career Fair on Monday, October 20, at Gilbert High School. Building on the success of its inaugural event, this year’s fair will offer even more opportunities for students to connect with a wide variety of educational and career professionals, all in one place.
The 2025 GPS College & Career Fair will feature a lineup of over 80 colleges, trade schools, universities, businesses, and industry partners ready to hire students now or post-graduation, and will run from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Students and families are encouraged to arrive early to attend any of four available pre-sessions, 30-minute presentations beginning at 5:00, designed to provide more in-depth information on key topics.
The District College & Career Fair pre-session topics include:
- 5:00 PM: Common App with College Connect Tempe
- 5:00 PM: Move Over Bob (tentative*) - A presentation on non-traditional pathways to careers
- 5:30 PM: Paying for College with The College Funding Coach
- 5:30 PM: Financial Aid & FAFSA with the Director for College Ready Arizona
"We're ensuring that the fair is a good picture of what students can do after high school, bringing in a balanced mix of colleges, universities, trades, community colleges, and workforce opportunities," shared Renita Miller, GPS Program & Workforce Development Coordinator.
At the fair, students can explore a diverse range of over 80 industry partners, including representatives from colleges and universities, as well as numerous trade and technical schools in fields like aviation, nursing, and auto diesel. The event will also feature local organizations and businesses offering jobs, internships, and apprenticeships that are currently available to students or will become available upon graduation.
Similar to last year, the District College & Career Fair will be utilizing StriveScan. This tool allows students to select their areas of interest, track their connections with academic advisors, and access information about tables they weren't able to visit during the fair.
